EXPLORING PRINTMAKING
My book is now available to buy and I can tell you a bit about it.
I began putting ideas together a couple of years ago but it was not until Bloomsbury Press got in touch and suggested that I write a book for them that it all began to happen. 18 months later and it has come full circle.
'Exploring Printmaking' is based on the printmaking activities that I teach in workshops on the Isle of Lewis where I am fortunate to live.
It is a very practical book and covers a range of printmaking techniques that you can carry out at home without the need for expensive materials or a printing press.
I have included step-by-step instructions with photographs so it should be easy to follow.
It aims to be an introduction for beginners who want to try out printmaking but it is also a handbook of ideas for more experienced artists who can get inspired to try out new ways to take their creativity. I have done some of the activities in schools and with my own grandchildren as well as with adults and it is great to watch as they take the activities and adapt them to suit their own ideas.
